London Youth Zone to benefit from IBC Buying Group donation
IBC Buying Group has made a donation to the Unitas Youth Zone following its successful Exhibition & Awards event earlier this year.
In February the independent merchant buying group brought its members and suppliers together at the prestigious Silverstone race circuit for two days of networking, enabling people to connect with each other, engage in new and existing partnerships and grow their business as part of the IBC Buying Group family.
Following the auction, an evening dinner and Awards ceremony allowed the discussions to continue in less formal surroundings. As part of the evening, a silent auction gave members and suppliers the chance to bid for exciting sports memorabilia, experiences and hotel stays, among many other prizes, with all monies raised going to help a fantastic cause – the Unitas Youth Zone.
Unitas, based in Barnet and North London, is part of a national network of youth zones built by the charity OnSide, designed to give young people a safe and inspiring place where they can grow in confidence, learn new skills and build resilience. Young people aged 8-19, and up to 25 with disabilities, can visit Unitas and access a wide range of activities and support.
Managing Director Stuart Stockley said: “Although I only joined IBC a few days before the exhibition, I was incredibly impressed by the camaraderie and atmosphere between our members and suppliers throughout the whole event, and also by the amount raised for charity on the night. IBC has been supporting Unitas for a number of years and have seen the amazing work that the charity does for ourselves. We were all devastated when we learned that Good2Auction had gone into liquidation, but determined not to allow all our Members and Suppliers’ efforts to go to waste. That’s why we have decided to honour the pledge to Unitas and ensure they receive the funds that will go a long way towards helping children in North London.”
